Aspen - 5 months

Aspen is becoming such a big girl! She is the sweetest baby girl ever...I know - I'm SLIGHTLY (ok a lot) biased... Here are some of the things she is up to at 5 months.

She is wearing a size 2 diaper and 6-9 month clothing. Her 9 month clothes are still a little big but with rolled pant legs and shirt sleeves, they work.

She weighs 16.8 lbs and is 25 inches long.

She is now rolling over! She's been so close for so long, but finally got that darn arm out of her way enough to get all the way over.  It's pretty fun to watch, she takes her legs and pulls them up in the air and then flings them to the side so she rolls to her side and then she keeps pushing over until she makes it all the way over to her tummy. She'll be content on her tummy for a little bit and then she'll either get mad or roll herself back over.

No teeth yet, but I swear they're coming!

She still loves her blankie bear the best. She also loves all her toys she got for Christmas, especially the ones that go in her mouth or the ones that have lights and sounds on them (that also end up in her mouth!).

She typically goes to sleep around 9 and I usually have to wake her up at 6 to get dressed on daycare days. On the weekends she will usually sleep until 7 or 8 (which is WONDERFUL for her mommy and daddy!) She is still sleeping in her craddle swaddled in our room, at night - although I think this month we might move her over to her crib but probably still in our room. She takes about 3 naps a day...one longer nap either in the morning or afternoon, depending on the day, and the other nap is usually about an hour. Her 3rd nap for the day is usually at 6:30 or so in the evening and she will sleep for about 30 min.

Aspen loves to talk to us. She loves to smile, play peek-a-boo, and play with her toys. She LOVES her exer-saucer now too. She loves all the toys and can turn herself all the way around when she's sitting in there now. She's super ticklish and just melts her mommy and daddy's hearts with her laughs!

Aspen, just in the last week or so, has really started noticing Roxy. She will follow her all around the room and always smiles when she first finds her. She tries to reach out and pet, but since she doesn't understand that Roxy probably doesn't want to have her hair pulled I always "help" her pet Roxy. It's so sweet to see them taking a liking to each other!

She’s almost sitting by herself. She will sit there for a minute or so and then she will crash to one side or the other.

Aspen is just starting to try baby foods.  She's still not a fan of cereal, so we tried green beans. She ate them but wasn't too excited about them. We just tried carrots for the first time and she ate the whole thing in one sitting and was reaching for more! Hey the girl knows what she likes!! :)

Looking so forward to what the future holds with our little angel!
