Aspen - 6 Months

Wow…my baby girl is 6 months old. HALF of a whole year…I can’t believe it.

Aspen is wearing size 3 diapers and 6-9 month clothing.

She weighs 17 lbs and is 25.5 inches long. I don’t have her percentiles yet, b/c her appt isn’t until the 14th…ugh shots again. She usually does great with her shots, just a little crying right after and usually goes home and wants to be snuggled and then takes a big long nap and afterwards you would never know she just had shots! It’s her momma that struggles!

Cheering the CHIEFS on during their playoff game!
She is so close to crawling…pushes herself up really big on her arms and gets her feet up under her…and then down she goes! Once she figures out what to do with her arms, she’ll be moving around in no time! She tries so hard, its completely adorable. She’s sitting all by herself! She will sit and play with her toys all by herself. When I look down or sit down and play with her, I just can’t believe how big girl it is that she can now “play” and sit all by herself.

She usually won’t let me rock her to sleep anymore (sad) so after our bottle and a good night kiss, if she’s squirmy I lay her in her bed and she hugs her blankie bear and talks herself to sleep. There are a few nights where she still lets me rock her to sleep. I love that.

Her sleeping is about the same, 9-6 at night on weekdays and about 7 if we don’t have to wake her for daycare.  She is still sleeping in our room, but now in her bed instead of her cradle. I still swaddle her, but she has slept a few nights without it.  We’ve been struggling with an upset tummy and teething at nighttime, so she’s been getting up more than ever before. It’s tough, but she’ll give me that smile and it’s all over for me. Haha.

She’s a talker! She will now try to imitate me with certain sounds I make (except mama of course!). She loves to smile, play peek-a-boo, and play with her toys.  Aspen loves to be tickled or make silly faces and noises with mommy and daddy. We’re working on high fives, and she’s actually getting it! J

Aspen and her bff Roxy...they've become quite the two little buddies lately.
One of my favorite times of the day is when we get home in the afternoon. Aspen is always smiling and looking for Roxy. Once we get out of the car seat, she is reaching and talking to Roxy. If Roxy runs to get a toy to play, if I’m holding Aspen’s hands she’ll start taking steps to go after her. Just last night we “chased” after Roxy and her toy over and over and Aspen and I were both laughing the whole time. I love that time with her.

We’ve tried just about every #1 baby food there is. She likes most of them, and will now eat her rice cereal with it. She’s still just eating one a day (in the afternoon when we get home) but I’m going to try to get her eating more “advanced” things and a few times a day soon!

Aspen is our little angel baby and we love her so so so much! As much as I struggle with my baby growing up already, it is so much fun to watch her learn and grow and to look forward to everything we have waiting for us to share together!!

I love the new post! She is so adorable and getting so big. Hopefully I can play with her next time when her teeth are already in! :)
