A few weeks ago we made the trip back to Manhattan and were lucky enough to get to go out on the boat! This was Aspen's first trip to the lake. I was worried about keeping her cool and if she would even like the boat but she did GREAT! We skiied and went over to the little "beach" that we used to go to when I was a kid. I say "beach" b/c the water is so high, there really wasn't much beach there. Her life jacket was a little big but we managed and had a hand on her at all times so she was perfectly safe.
She even took a nap on the boat! I think she was pretty excited that she got to ride with no car seat. When she woke up she got to try her first cheetoe (no surprises, she loved it and had several!).
You might wonder why cheetoes are a big deal...we went to the lake ALL THE TIME when I was little and it's some of my best memories. We always went over to this little beach and grilled and for some reason, my sister and I remember always eating cheetoes. haha. Aspen loved walking and feeling the sand in her toes - she was so excited. It was really special to me and my dad, (Aspen's poppy) to bring her here.
Just for fun, these are pics of me at the exact same place when I was a kid. We used to build the best sand castles. And don't mind me not wearing a top in the second pic, apparently my mom said I never liked to keep it on! haha...and check out those crazy curls!
After the beach we went back into a cove and got some skiing in. I haven't skiied in 3 years! So excited that I could still do it!
We had so much fun and can't wait for the next time we get to go out on Poppy's boat!!
